Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

i pay more in state taxes than in federal taxes

i pay too much property tax

i pay too much sales tax, gas tax, sugar tax,

it needs to stop and the state needs to live on our budget , the one that has at least a zero balance

Follow your promises. This state is always making promises and then doing what they want at the end… Tax increase should NOT BE allowed to continue.

Let’s get our government in order and run it like a household and not spend money we don’t have and borrow to the hilt.

I do not want any more taxes, since I can barely keep up with the increase in gasoline prices, food prices, electric prices, etc.

Why don’t you “the representatives of the people” let people who want their taxes to stay at the increased rate to choose to do so? That way you know how many people in Illinois you “represent” that really want this tax increase to be permanent! You were elected to represent the people remember!

I have 5 more years before my 2nd child graduates high school and look forward to moving out of this corrupt state. My parents are retired and looking elsewhere . Why? Taxes… taxes…taxes. I live within my means , why aren’t politicians? Every extra dime my middle class self has to pay to these wasteful idiots who can’t balance a budget…is one less dime I’m spending in a store ( jobs) spending in a restaurant (jobs) spending on entertainment (jobs) . The flight of residents and businesses out of state , I would think be a wake up call to our Governor…nah . He doesn’t care , he and Madigan don’t care about anyone but themselves and their cronies.
