Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

If we keep raising taxes we will eventually lose our base of tax payers.

Why should the working class citizens cotinually support our government and those who don’t choose to work. I am tired of working hard to take care of my family while I watch my tax dollars be thrown away. Enough is enough! What is the state going to do when the working class refuses to live here and support the state anymore? I am ashamed that I grew up a democrat. The democratic party used to support the working class person but now all they want to do is tax us more so they can throw more money away.

More drastic measures are needed. The Debtocrats laugh at this petition. How about a march on Springfield? How about some civil disobedience? How about a media blitz calling Madigan and Quinn liars and crooks publicly and repeatedly. No – we are too elegant to do that. Illinois Republicans are the best Democrats. Or? Surprise me.

The wasteful and unnecessary spending needs to stop before they even think about robbing us of more of OUR hard-earned money. They need to direct funds to the departments they were originally collected for, i.e. motor fuel tax to roads, lottery income to schools, etc. instead of finding ways to re-direct those funds to their ‘favorite’ funds.

Until Illinois cuts the waste and fraud, I don’t want to send more money to Springfield.
