Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

Permanent Spending Reform, NOT Permanent Taxation!

Taxpayer proceeds should be used for common infrastructure improvements NOT for a Presidential Library!

We all knew deep in our gut that there is no temporary when it comes to taxes.

How about we don’t blow $100 M on the Obama ‘Presidential’ Library and cut taxes that little bit more.

Please keep your word and let the temporary state income tax expire. There is plenty of waste in state government, including many agencies that could be eliminated and/or cut back, starting with the Asst. Governor. You’re making it easier and easier to seriously consider leaving the state of Illinois, and all of its corruption, taxing, borrowing and spending, and did I mention corruption? We’re sick of it , extremely sick of it, and very soon might just leave and not take it anymore. Last one out, turn out the lights.
