Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

It’s high time you politicians do the right thing and get your hands out of my pockets.

King Madigan is the most destructive person in this State, it’s time for him to go!!!

The public pension mess is YOUR FAULT! You underfunded and diverted funds for decades despite court orders. How dare you scumbags blame the heroes who EARNED every penny of their pension, unlike you!!

Does Illinois always have to have the largest or most of everything? Largest amount of people moving out of a state, income tax amount, gas tax, most convicted politicians, most people dependent on state aid, and most issues that never get resolved by a political party that maintains the majority at the state capitol.

Thank You Tom Morrison & Jeanne Ives for fighting against this. When they called it “temporary,” we all knew that they would do this. Is anyone surprised? These legislators have no integrity. All of us struggle to meet our personal budgets. Imagine if we could, by force of law, take more money from our neighbors at will to meet our budget. That’s exactly what they are doing. They grand stand about raising the minimum wage while confiscating more of your pay. Incredible. Thanks again Tom & Jeanne! We need more Republican willing to stand for honesty and integrity!
