HPV Vaccine

HB 4870 would require students entering the sixth grade of any public, private, or parochial school, to receive the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination and require confirmation that the student has completed the series of HPV vaccinations upon entering the ninth grade of any public, private, or parochial school. Unlike a highly contagious infectious disease like measles, HPV is a sexual transmitted infection and the vaccine can be given to individuals up to 26 years of age.

I am opposed to this bill and view it as an infringement on parental and personal rights. Government should not be making decisions like this for families, and because individuals can receive this vaccine up until the age of 26, the decision can be made when a child becomes an adult.

If you agree that the provisions of HB 4870 represent an attack on parental and personal rights, please sign the petition below.
