Statement from Rep. Durkin on the Budget

“State spending has become inflated beyond control. This week the Illinois House was presented with a budget that had an additional $50 million in spending beyond what we all agreed to in bipartisan committees.

I voted no on all parts of this budget because after working in groups for months to come to agreement democrats added last minute increases in spending. The democrats continue to spend way beyond our means. For this reason, I could not support this budget.”
