Springfield, IL- Don’t miss the Traveling World of Reptiles Show, Touch a Truck exhibits, interactive safety demonstrations and more at this year’s FREE Children’s Safety Expo hosted by

State Sen. Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) and State Representatives Jim Durkin (R- Western Springs) and Ron Sandack (R- Downers Grove) on Saturday, June 4 from 9:00a.m. to Noon at:

“Promoting children’s health and safety remains a top priority for me,” said Sen. Radogno. “This year’s Safety Expo offers children and parents a great opportunity to learn about issues such as cyber bullying, nutrition, bicycle safety, college saving programs, as well engage in fun interactive activities!”

Admission is free.There will also be free giveaways at the event. Demonstrations at this year’s expo include: True Balance Karate class, the Traveling World of Reptiles Show and the Darien Police K-9 Unit. Also, the LIFESTAR Chicago medical helicopter will be there from 9:30am - 11:30am.

More than 30 “Touch-a-Trucks” will be at the Safety Expo, and kids are invited to see, touch and get behind the wheel of their favorite vehicle. Local professionals will be available to answer questions about the equipment and the work they do.

"This is always a very well-attended event, and families come back every year not just for the information that is available for parents, but for the fun, hands-on activities for children," said Rep. Durkin. "The Traveling Reptile Show and the Touch-a-Truck exhibit are especially popular."

"This annual event has become a favorite for local children and families," said Sandack. "A variety of interactive activities will be available, as area families learn about important topics such as nutrition, bike and personal safety and cyber bullying."
