Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

The more we give you the more you waste!

Place ALL political pensions, past and present in with the 100 Billion Dollar mess that everyone

who has passed through there has created. Judges pensions too.

Do not put us further in debt. We need to live with the approved budget. Remove tax hike as planned.

this tax has added to making this the worst state in the nation to live in. The continued taxation without representation has chased away businesses which caused us to lose jobs which has placed our state in such a poor economic situation that we are not anywhere near pulling out of it, yet we continue to spend like we are in the clear. to fix the problem you have to get rid of people who just want to pad a pension as a part time state employee (our politicians) on the backs of those of us who work FULL TIME. Term limits are absolutely necessary, and truthfully honoring the oath of office would be a great starting point for them. I fully understand why people leave this state and go elsewhere. this state has nothing to offer anyone anymore in terms of a prosperous life; that is except for our politicians, taking money from big business while they totally forget about the people of the state that they represent. want to correct the problems, overhaul the government of this state and get rid of the corruption.

Texas or Iowa is looking better every day. I can move across the Mississippi River and still get our of Illinois. I’m sick and tired of being taken advantage of by a State government that can’t operate in a fiscally responsible way. Get your act together, Illinois government.

I definitely would like to see a roll back of the tax incurred in 2011. Also terms limits and keeping to the BUDGET would be good.

We should slowly phase out the temporary tax over a long period of time then perhaps the economy would improve.
