Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

I have predominantly democratic views but I see NO value in the permanent income tax hike. Lazy politics and I’ll vote accordingly at next election.

How could we ever believe that the politicians in IL would ever return the tax to the old level? IL is often a painful state to live in.

I hope by signing this Petition it will make the State of Illinois reform the pensions . Make them live on Social Security like the rest of us and I mean all the Government not just who they want to pick. I was Reading a publication of the University of Illinois in Springfield "Trouble on the Horizon " It is stated that by not letting this be a permanent fix that the State government might have to shut down . Maybe thats what we need to get someone in there that knows what they are doing and do not have to worry about re-elections .

You politicians are out of control. We, the people, need to take back the power. Between your salaries and perks and the overpaid teachers salaries it’s no wonder we have the mess we do. We’re going to get term limits on you people. The teachers better have a game plan in mind. Tax payers are done paying for these teachers retirements. They’re as corrupt as the politicians with their increases for the last few years they work. Hold on tight because the people are going to finally say NO MORE!
