Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

We are already moving when we retire can’t afford property taxes, do this we will move sooner. While some government worker shuffles their feet getting work done but waiting that pension I don’t know if I will have a job or SSA

Tell them their won’t be pensions if the state goes bankrupt because everybody is moving out. Tell them a little is better then nothing. I am a veteran and I don’t have a pension plan in fact I only made half the salary while carrying my M16 guarding their way of life.

This is absolutely theft. The state government had 4 years to get the pensions reformed yet delayed the vote continuously. Now that everything is still not taken care of and spending is out of control we are supposed to pay the rest of our live and our children’s, and our grand children’s. I already pay too much for gas, I am fully taxed on the food I eat, the lottery was supposed to supplement education. This state government votes for their own raises and forces temporary tax hikes upon it citizens and then wants to make them permanent. This is wrong, my father in-law is already talking about leaving this state, and I am looking to follow him. I want oversight in the government and in it’s projects. Govern the state stop stealing pennies from the poor. Fix Illinois! I am going to start to oust Pat Quinn, and get anyone else into the governer’s office. A monkey would do better, at least a monkey cannot lie.
