Let Income Tax Increase Expire - Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin

Let Income Tax Increase Expire

In a lame duck session in 2011, the Democrat-controlled legislature imposed a 67% income tax increase on every working person in the state of Illinois. They promised it was temporary and set it to rollback on January 1, 2015. Now they want to make that tax increase permanent.

We don't think it's right. If you agree, please add your name to the petition below and take the added step of sharing it with your friends.

Let's make them keep their promise.

The state of IL is so poorly run, and so badly mismanaged that is is irresponsible to give any additional money to the state. Only after the revenue is decreased can our politicians have any hope of making responsible decisions.

I would not and will not vote for any legislature that votes to make the Temporary Tax permanent.

That’s like taking a loan and then not paying it back. Anyone who goes back on there word to me is DEAD to me.

Pass the $10.00 per hour minimum wage for 18 and older.

It affects less than 3% of the labor force and will have NO impact on our economy.

No one can live on $54.00 per day.

No more lies! We need to let this expire. I’m sure this was the plan all along, make it temp, and then it’s easier to make it perm later. Let’s show madigan and Quinn we’re not the idiots they think we are!

why doesn’t the Illinois House try budgeting for a change? whats wrong with “cuts”? I have had to make cuts in my life to pay this ridiculous tax increase…..now let some others. I am rich and am retired and still got socked with a big tax increase. Why not worry about us for a change instead of your seat in the House???
