On May 1, 2017, Great Lakes Basin Transportation, Inc. (GLB) filed a formal application with the Federal Surface Transportation Board to construct and operate a 260 mile private rail line running through Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.The plan could result in Grundy County and Kankakee County losing an estimated $70 million and $90 million per year respectively in agricultural revenue.
