Rep. Windhorst's 2022 Survey

Dramatic changes to the way police are allowed/required to do their jobs is now Illinois law. The ‘SAFE-T Act’ (P.A. 101-0652) potentially puts police in legal jeopardy for doing their jobs, allows unlimited anonymous complaints against officers, prohibits the police from arresting individuals for certain misdemeanor offenses, eliminates cash bail and requires individuals accused of certain felony offenses to be released from custody pending trial, and defunds local governments and police departments that cannot afford to comply with the unfunded mandates in the law. Rep. Windhorst has introduced legislation to repeal the SAFE-T Act. Do you agree that the ‘SAFE-T Act’ should be repealed?
